Loft Conversions
Converting your
loft is an excellent way to achieve the extra space you need. Bedroom with
en-suite, playroom, office, or a second lounge, the possibilities are endless
One of the main reasons for having a loft conversion is the use of the room. An
additional benefit has to be one added value to your property. An expertly
constructed loft conversion will take your property into a new price bracket by
the transformation of unused roof space into living area.
Homeowners often believe that a new kitchen or bathroom to be the most valuable
property improvements. Estate agents know different. In reality improving
durable fixtures and fitting adds considerably less value than a loft
conversion.
Most lofts can be converted the main requirement is height. There needs to be
sufficient head height to be able to work comfortably. The highest point will
need to be at least 2.3 metres from the ceiling joist to the top of the ridge
beam.
We are the Kent experts in the conversion industry and modern trussed roofs are
not a problem for our experienced team. In simple terms a Velux conversion uses
the space already there, providing the light and ventilation required without
significantly altering the appearance of your property. An extension to the roof
is referred to as a Dormer construction. This allows the removal of a large area
of the sloping roof and will increase the height within the conversion.
A loft conversion must be built to specifications that meet Planning
constraints, Building regulations and the relevant Structural requirements. A
loft conversion needs to be planned and constructed by experienced personnel to
maximise it's potential.
